How to request a refund
In our our online refund system, you can easily request a refund for your extra options. This system checks if you’re eligible for a refund. You can also give us a call, but please note that a fee may be charged.
Your request will be processed within 7 days.
Didn’t book via KLM?
Unfortunately, you cannot use our online refund system you booked via a travel agent. We advise contacting your ravel agent first, as they have all needed information to arrange your refund. You can find contact details on their website. If you prefer, you can also contact us directly to help arranging your refund.
Eligibility
Please carefully check if you’re eligible for a refund to avoid disappointment.
Regular seat reservation
We’ll refund the costs of your regular seat reservation if:
- You request a refund within 24 hours after buying the option
- Your KLM flight was cancelled
- The aircraft type of your KLM flight changed
- You were on a disrupted or cancelled flight operated by KLM or a SkyTeam partner and therefore missed your connecting intercontinental KLM flight
- You were assigned a different seat
- You reserved a seat on a flight operated by KLM but changed to a flight that’s not operated by KLM
Extra comfortable seats in Economy Class
We’ll refund the costs of your Economy Comfort seat, seat with extra legroom, seat in a row of 2, or front section seat if:
- You request a refund within 24 hours after buying the option
- Your KLM flight was cancelled
- The aircraft type of your KLM flight changed
- You were on a disrupted or cancelled flight operated by KLM or a SkyTeam partner and therefore missed your connecting intercontinental KLM flight
- You changed your KLM flight, and bought the same seat type for this new flight
- You changed your KLM flight, and the same seat type was not available on the new flight
Extra baggage
You can ask for a refund within 24 hours after purchasing your extra baggage or if you were rebooked onto a flight that’s not operated by KLM.
À la carte meals
Was your flight cancelled or rebooked, and was your à la carte meal not available on your alternative flight? You can then request a refund.
KLM Crown Lounge 25 access
You can request a refund of the KLM Crown Lounge 25 access you bought if:
- You request a refund within 24 hours after buying the option
- You did not enter the KLM Crown Lounge
- You upgraded to Business Class, so lounge access is now included in your ticket
Inflight WiFi
Getting the money of your WiFi voucher back is easy. We will automatically refund the money if you didn’t use the voucher on your flight. If you successfully bought a voucher but never received the voucher code, you'll also receive an automatic refund within a week.
CO₂ Impact Programme
Was your flight cancelled, and did you not take an alternative flight? You can then request a refund.
